Our Special Pies

Because sometimes we want something a little different, we have a few special pies that rotate on the menu. They aren’t always available, so look out for our Weekend Specials, Chicken Specials, Lamb Specials and Game Specials!

Each weekend we have a Pie and Sausage roll special. These will always appear on the same weekend of the month. Our chicken, lamb and game specials rotate on the menu.

Weekend Specials

1st weekend of the month

  • Steak, caramelised onion and semi dried tomato

    Diced chuck steak in rich gravy with caramelised onion and semi dried tomatoes

  • Lamb and halloumi sausage roll

    Fresh minced lamb with chunks of halloumi, wrapped in our buttery puff pastry

2nd weekend of the month

  • Beef Stroganoff

    Diced chuck steak marinated in worcestershire sauce and paprika, cooked in a bacon and mushroom sauce finished with a little cream

  • Pork and fennel sausage roll

    Fresh pork mince seasoned with fennel seeds, wrapped in our delicious buttery puff pastry

3rd weekend of the month

  • Cheeseburger pie

    Beef mince layered with smoked American cheese, mustard, tomato sauce, red onion and gherkin all in a pie

  • Wagyu and caramelised onion sausage roll

    Minced wagyu brisket seasoned with caramelised onions, wrapped in our delicious buttery puff pastry

4th weekend of the month

  • Steak Dianne with potato galette

    Diced chuck steak in rich gravy with a garlicky Dianne sauce topped with our creamy potato galette

  • Bacon and cheese sausage roll

    Fresh sausage mince with bacon and vintage cheddar topped with smokey paprika, wrapped in our delicious buttery puff pastry

5th weekend of the month

  • Steak and Guinness

    Diced chuck steak in our Guinness gravy topped with homemade buttery, spring onion mashed potato

  • Wagyu and caramelised onion sausage roll

    Minced wagyu brisket seasoned with caramelised onions, wrapped in our delicious buttery puff pastry

Chicken Specials

  • Chicken, leek, mustard and blue cheese

    Tender pieces of chicken, roasted and tossed through a creamy leek, dijon mustard and blue cheese sauce

  • Hunter Chicken

    The classic French dish Chicken Chassuer, meaning hunter in French. Our version is paprika roasted chicken, bacon and mushrooms finished in a light creamy gravy

  • Smoked chicken, leek, sun dried tomatoes and Gruyere cheese.

    Smoked chicken in a creamy leek sauce with sun dried tomatoes. Topped with Gruyere cheese.

  • Chicken, porcini and chives

    Chicken cooked with Italian style mushrooms finished with roast garlic and fresh chives

  • Chicken, asparagus and gorgonzola

    Roasted chicken in a creamy asparagus sauce topped with a mild Italian blue cheese

  • Chicken, chorizo and manchego

    Roast chicken, chorizo and chickpeas in a paprika and garlic sauce

  • Peri peri chicken

    Portuguese style BBQ chicken with blackened corn salsa

  • Sri Lankan chicken curry

    Fragrant coconut based curry with fried curry leaves and coriander

  • Roast chicken gravy with mash and mushy peas

    Roast chicken and gravy topped with mash and mushy peas in a pie

Lamb Specials

  • Kashmir lamb

    Lamb marinated overnight in yogurt and traditional Indian spices. Roasted then added to an aromatic Kashmir chilli sauce. Finished with roasted Eggplant and fresh coriander. The Kashmir chilli gives this pie a florally aromatic flavour which is quite different to other chillies. HOT!

  • Moroccan lamb

    Lamb marinated in Hayden’s Pies homemade harissa, cooked in a Moroccan style sauce. Finished with fresh parsley, coriander and roasted Eggplant. HOT!

  • Lamb, spinach and feta

    Lamb marinated in garlic, ground cumin and ground coriander then slow cooked until tender. Added to fresh spinach and feta.

  • Lamb Saagwala

    Indian style spinach curry with tender pieces of marinated lamb. This pie does not use chilli but is made with Indian spices such as cardamom, fenugreek, paprika and turmeric.

  • Lamb sweet potato and olive

    Lamb marinated in cumin and ground coriander. Added to a rich tomato based sauce with roasted sweet potato topped with a large green olive.

  • Lamb Rendang

    Lamb slow cooked in coconut milk, cinnamon, cloves, chilli and ground coriander. Medium spice

  • Lamb Vindaloo

    One of our hotter lamb pies. Lamb cooked in coconut milk with traditional Indian spices, chat potatoes and fresh coriander. HOT!

  • Lamb Massaman

    A Southern Thai sweet coconut based curry. This pie is a combination of flavours from Indian cuisine such as cinnamon, turmeric and ground cumin and Thai cuisine being coconut, lime leaves and peanuts. No chilli.

Game Specials

  • Kangaroo and roast beetroot

    Kangaroo slow cooked in a garlic and red wine sauce with roasted beetroot

  • Woolly jumper

    What do you get when you a lamb with a kangaroo....... a woolly jumper!

  • Peking duck

    Our homemade Peking style duck finished with fresh spring onions topped with hoi-sin and crispy duck skin.

  • Tandoori tahr

    Tahr is a Himalayan goat. Its flavour is a lot milder than other goat meat. Marinated in yogurt and Indian spices, then oven roasted in a tomato based sauce. Finished with fresh chopped tomato, onion and coriander.

  • Alpaca con carne

    South American chilli dish, finished with a hint of cocoa and fresh chopped coriander

  • Rabbit, bacon and peas

    Slow braised rabbit with chunky roast bacon and green peas

  • Crocodile

    Fresh local crocodile (ha ha ha) cooked in a leek and garlic sauce, finished with a dash of cream.

  • Wallaby stew

    Sourced from Tasmania. Being a sweeter meat than roo, goes well in an Aussie root vegetable stew.

  • Goat curry

    Indian style, tomato based curry. Finished with fresh coriander. HOT!

  • Venison and roast field mushroom

    Slow cooked venison in a red wine, onion and garlic gravy. Finished with roasted field mushrooms.
